Mantres is the ridge located to the E-NE side of Mount Olympus, at 2.247m altitude. Mantres is the eastern extension of Skourta peak.
Its name comes from the ancient word "μάνδρα" (in the Middle Ages "mantra") and due to the sheep pens that were maintained by breeders in the area. Older maps of Greek General Army Department (1934) refer to it as Petrostrouga.
